Introducing Our Name The Whale Competition
Thursday 22nd August, 2024Get ready to dive into an exciting new initiative from Unblocktober! As part of our ongoing mission to protect the UK's drains, sewers and seas, we’re thrilled to launch the "Name the Whale" competition. This competition is open to families across the UK, inviting you to come up with a creative name for our friendly Unblocktober whale.
Alongside naming the whale, children can unleash their artistic talents by colouring in the whale’s official artwork, making this a fun way to engage with the Unblocktober campaign and contribute to a cleaner environment.
Join us in this exciting adventure and help us make a real difference!
What Is Name the Whale?
The "Name the Whale" competition is an exciting new way for families to get involved with Unblocktober’s mission to protect our environment. We’re inviting participants to think creatively and submit a name for our campaign’s mascot, the Unblocktober whale. But that’s not all - we would love to see children bring the whale to life by colouring in the official artwork, which can be downloaded by clicking the button below
Download your campaign mascot!
Here’s how the competition works:
- Submit a name: think of a unique and meaningful name for the Unblocktober whale that reflects the campaign’s commitment to protecting our sewers and seas.
- Get creative: download the whale colouring sheet from our website and let your imagination run wild. Whether you choose bold colours or intricate designs, this is your chance to show off your artistic skills.
- Enter your submission: scroll down to submit your name suggestion and upload your completed artwork using our simple online form.
This competition is a fun opportunity to engage children in environmental education and inspire them to think about how their actions can positively impact the world around them. All entries will be considered, and the most popular name suggestions will go on to the next stage of the competition. Your creativity could help shape the identity of the Unblocktober whale and make a lasting impact on our campaign!
How Voting Works
Once all the name suggestions are in, we’ll narrow down the most popular entries and compile them into a list. In September, we’ll open up the voting so everyone can help choose the final name for our Unblocktober whale!
If you want to be the first to know when voting goes live, be sure to sign up for the Unblocktober newsletter. Not only will you get updates on the competition, but you’ll also receive information on other Unblocktober challenges and tips on how to protect our environment.
Why Get Involved?
Getting involved in the Name the Whale competition is more than just a fun activity - it’s a chance to contribute to a larger cause. By participating, you’re helping to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our drains, sewers and seas from harmful waste. This competition is a wonderful way to engage children in environmental issues, teaching them about sustainability through a creative and interactive experience.
